Odisha Sets Up 12,000 Temporary Medical Camps, 5 Lakh Beds for Migrant Odias
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government has set up a whopping 12,000 Temporary Medical Camps (TMC) and arranged around 5 lakhs beds for migrant workers in rural areas, Panchayati Raj Secretary D.K. Singh said here on Wednesday.
These 12,000 temporary medical camps have been set up in all 6,798 Gram Panchayats and utmost attention have been given for sanitation and cleanliness at these camps, he added.
The migrants are being provided quality food and the healthcare workers along with other service providers used personal protective equipments (PPEs) while working in these camps, said Singh.
As many as 7,451 Odias have returned home on Wednesday, and all together 35,540 have return to the State by train, bus and other vehicles, Singh said
Odisha Government has made it mandatory quarantine for 14 days. However, for urban areas, home quarantine is the preferred option.
Returnees could also opt for paid quarantine in a hotel or lodge identified for the purpose in urban areas.
On the other hand Institutional quarantine is compulsory in rural areas. In case of pregnant and lactating women, children, students, professionals, transgender and physically and mentally challenged, home quarantine is allowed.
