India leadership conclave & Indian Affairs Business leadership awards currently in its 9th successive annual award ceremony felicitated Vedanta Aluminium in the category of “Indian Affairs India’s Most Valuable Aluminum Producing Company of the Year 2018” & Mr. Abhijit Pati in the category of “Indian Affairs Innovative CEO of the year 2018” in a glittering award ceremony in mumbai. More than 350 industry leaders, diplomats, policy makers, social activists, business tycoons, rebel leaders are were in full attendance at the much awaited annual affair including delegates from the middle east, Europe & asean countries. The grand conclave ILC 2018 also felicitated leaders & Companies for the remarkable performances for making india move, proud & prosper.
Mr. Samir Cairae, the Chief Executive Officer of Diversified Metals for India at Vedanta Limited and Vedanta Resources plc received the prestigious recognition for Vedanta’s outstanding performance in the coveted category of “Indian Affairs India’s Most Valuable Aluminum Producing Company of the Year 2018” Vedanta Aluminum is a leading producer of metallurgical grade alumina and other aluminium products, which cater to a wide spectrum of industries.

Mr. Santosh Kumar, Vedanta’s lead for European Market segment , Mr. Pratyush Sahu the lead technical assist for CEO office currently in charge of domestic market segment and Ms. Venkatesh representing the CEO’s communication team received the prestigious recognition on behalf of Mr. Abhijit Pati.

About Mr. Abhijit Pati
Born on 1st January 1964, Abhijit Pati, CEO – Vedanta Limited, Jharsuguda, has travelled from a modest family background to the pinnacle of academic excellence and professional success in Aluminium business over an illustrious career spanning more than 20 years in this sector.
Proud alumnae of Calcutta University, Mr. Abhijit Pati started his career as an budding engineer with Indian Aluminium Company (subsidiary of ALCAN in Indian Aluminium Company) in 1989. He joined HINDALCO, Hirakud as a part of Aditya Birla Group of Industries, and established himself as a frontline leader to reckon with in the business of Aluminium. As a young and budding professional in his early career he was awarded with ‘Exceptional Contributor Award’ from Group Chairman Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla for his significant contribution in turnaround story of Hirakud Aluminum Smelter in 2006 and also bagged the Prestigious British Sword of Honour for Hirakud Smelter in 1999. He was serving the aspiration of the group as Vice President till 2008 when he was offered the position of Chief Operating Officer for one of the largest Greenfield Aluminium & Power complex of the world at Jharsuguda, Odisha by the global natural resources conglomerate, Vedanta Group. Subsequently, on 16th March 2015 Mr. Pati was elevated to the coveted position of President & CEO of Vedanta Ltd.’s Aluminium business and now heads the world’s largest single-location aluminium smelter at Jharsuguda. Under his able leadership, Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda’s became an illustrious member of the prestigious ‘Million Tonne Club of global aluminium producing companies. He is also the lead officio member of Governing Council of Aluminium Association of India (AAI). He is also nominated representative of India appointed by Government of India for the Indo-Japanese collaboration on PAT scheme for collaboration on energy sector.
His contribution towards industry is held in high esteem by several industrial & academic institutions of India. He was felicitated with ‘Technological Excellence Award 2016’ at the 20th National Conference on non-ferrous minerals & metals for his contribution as a frontline leader in the turnaround of several aluminium production centers of the country, added by his expertise & years of experience with the major metal based corporate organizations. He was adjudged ‘India Affairs Professional CEO of the year 2017’ at the gth Annual India Leadership Conclave & Indian Affairs Business Leadership Awards. At the 3rd Corporate Excellence Award organized by Odisha Cultural Foundation, Mr. Pati was awarded ‘Best CEO of the Year, 2017’ for his efforts in driving aluminium revolution in India as the CEO of Vedanta Ltd., Jharsuguda, where his professional acumen & leadership has resulted in nurturing one of the largest primary producers of aluminium.
Academically, being proud son of academician he is two times Gold Medalist from prestigious institutes like Calcutta University and International Management Institute, New Delhi, Mr. Pati by Qualification is a first class honours Bachelor in Chemical Engineering and an MBA. He is active member of large numbers of Aluminium association both national and International areas.

About Vedanta Limited
VL has carved out a niche for itself in the aluminium industry with its superior product quality based on state-of-the-art technology. The firm operates a 1 mtpa greenfield alumina refinery and an associated 75 MW captive power plant at Lanjigarh in the state of Orissa. Plans are afoot to increase the capacity of the Lanjigarh refinery significantly to 5 mtpa. This is in line with VL’s strategy to promote Lanjigarh as a self sustained manufacturing unit in terms of cost advantage and resource availability.
VL has invested in a 0.5 mtpa aluminum smelter and 1215 MW captive power plant supported by highly modern infrastructure at Jharsuguda, Orissa.
